What you train
One dojo, two lineages
Muskoka Martial Arts is a blend of Matsubayashi-Ryu (Shorin-Ryu) karate, Northern Praying Mantis kung fu and mixed martial arts. Karate gives you the structure: stances, forms, a curriculum against which you can measure yourself. Kung fu brings the movement and the close-range work. Mixed martial arts is included on the schedule too, with groundwork and jiu-jitsu. The calendar below is exactly what September looks like.
Balance
The base every stance and strike is built on.
Hand-eye
coordination
One class, one floor. Ages 12 to 82 train together, each at their own pace. Over 82? You’re welcome too (with parental supervision!)
Muscle
strength
Two hours a week, standing up, moving. It adds up week by week.
No
tournaments
No competition team, no medals, nothing to travel to on a Saturday.
Getting started
The hardest part is getting started
Four weeks, no cost, no commitment. Get yourself to the parking lot and we’ll take it from there!

Pick a night
Tuesday or Thursday, 7:00 pm at the Bracebridge Legion. Both nights run every week, so start with whichever suits you.

Give Eric a shout
A quick call or an email before you come is all it takes. Tell him your age and which night suits you and he will tell you what to expect.

You are not sparring on night one
Nobody puts a first-timer into anything they’re not ready for. Even if your first week lands on a Fight Night, come anyway, we’ll bring you in at your own pace.

Take the free month
New members train the first month free. Use the four weeks, see whether it fits your week, and decide if you'd like to join for the rest of the season.

What’s on this month
Two classes a week at the Bracebridge Legion, 7:00 to 9:00 pm, plus one Monday a month when members travel to the Aurora dojo. Every night on this calendar is open to a new member.
